| Carl,
I received my new Fisher F-75 a few days ago and so far I am impressed. There are many, many features that go above and beyond other detectors, but I will just mention a few that stand out for me.
1 - The depth is outstanding.... where I live there is no mineralized soil, so what I get in air tests I also get in the ground. At 50% sensitivity setting, I can easily hear a penny at 13+ inches. The ID will show a little lower reading at that depth, but hearing something that deep deserves investigation whatever the ID. I look forward to digging more older and deeper coins real soon.
2 - I beach hunt, many times at night and the backlight makes this Target ID detector easy to use in the dark.
3 - I specifically tested the F-75 at the waters edge in the wet salt sand. Few detectors will work well in the wet salt sand. I used Zero discrimination, Jewelry Process, 4 Tones, 25 Sensitivity and I manually ground balanced the detector. It ground balanced at a setting of 1 (one). I burried a penny at 8 inches and had no problem hearing it and it still gave a good target signal even when I raised the coil a couple of inches. I then turned up the Sensitivity to 50 and proceeded to detect the wet sand without any falsing. It was amazing to see how well it worked in the wet salt sand. In my location the only detectors to work well in the wet sand are the multi-frequency detectors which are slow and not as sensitive to gold as the F-75.
4 - Faceplate.... the controls allow me to easily select and change menu settings easily with my thumb or by toggling the trigger switch. It takes only seconds and can even be done in the dark because all the info is backlit on the screen.
As always, thanks for your outstanding service.
